About Us
Wendy began dancing in England as a child in Blackpool which is known as the Mecca of ballroom dancing. After moving to the USA she studied at the Rodgers Dancesport Center New Jersey, owned by Diana and Gary McDonald the World Ten Dance champions for 10 consecutive years.
Wendy dances both International and American style Ballroom, in Standard and Latin and has competed and won several awards and first places in competition held in New York and New Jersey.
John began dancing with his wife Wendy not long after their wedding 21 years ago. He also studied at Rogers Dancesport Center in New Jersey and has competed in ballroom dance competitions and has won awards in both International and American styles of dance. John shines as a teacher because of his quiet patience with students and devotion to dance.
Living now in southeast Georgia, on beautiful St. Simons Island, John and Wendy started the dance group called “The Golden Isles Dancers” The goal of this organization is to promote appreciation of ballroom dance, to provide instruction and to provide a place each month to get together and dance.
Together Wendy and John have been teaching aboard cruise ships since 1999 and they still teach 2 or 3 times a year for a week or two for such cruise companies as NCL, Costa, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise ships.
They both believe that dance lessons never stop and they still continue to take lessons, attend dance seminars and dance camps.
Their motto is; “Get more out of life Learn to Dance!”
